Treatment

• • Treatment is challenging since the TM perf limits the topical options since these may cause burning pain and / or ototoxicity

    • Tolfonate 1% (Tinactin) solution is a non-ototoxic option 

  • Dr. Rasgon pearl

    • In addition to proper debridement

    • Apply Gelfoam over the TM perf

    • Then, fill the entire EAC with Mycalog ointment

    • RTC 1-2 weeks for repeat debridement 

  • Systemic option

    • Oral fluconazole
